President - Arturo Santos

Arturo brings over two decades of experience working in information technology and security focused on governance, risk and compliance. He is an active security and data privacy advocate and has worked with several organizations worldwide managing complex projects in multicultural environments to implement and maintain compliance with security regulations and standards.

Treasurer - William Sabatier

Solution driven Information Technology and Security practitioner with 25+ years of experience working in the banking and financial sectors. His leadership and focus in the in the areas of IT and Security Governance, Risk and Compliance has provided a wealth of experience and knowledge applicable to most industries. William is a founding member of the (ISC)² Miami Chapter and is a strong advocate of lifelong learning and continuous professional and personal development.

William is currently an (ISC)² and ISACA Member and holds the following certifications - Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP).

Secretary - Frank Martinez

For over 17 years, Frank Martinez has worked across the spectrum of IT organizations in South Florida, providing technical expertise and leadership on a variety of technologies, but always focusing on ensuring security in all aspects. Currently serving as the Director of Information Security at Nova Southeastern University, Frank continues to work at the forefront of the field to bring the best blend of technology and security to the enterprises he serves.

Community Outreach Chair - Sam Pahlavan

After earning his Honors Bachelor of Science degree from University of Toronto, an opportunity to work with a prominent I.T. organization convinced Sam to move with his wife (Joy) to the sunny South Florida in 1997 where he rapidly expanded his hands-on knowledge on infrastructure, networking, storage, cyber security and DR and BC.

Aside from his design and implementation responsibilities, some of Sam’s current and previous roles promoted him to be a Technology visionary, effective in strategic security planning and project management. In 2018, Sam’s insatiable desire to continuously learn had led him to complete his MBA with concentration in Cybersecurity at University of Fairfax (U of F). At U of F, parallel to his MBA studies, Sam was able to earn a Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity Best Practices adding to the many more technical certifications earned during his career. Sam is also passionate for helping others and giving a hand to those in need; he is currently an active member of the American Red Cross.

Membership Chair - Matias Fernandez

Matias Fernandez is a Deloitte Advisory Manager in Deloitte & Touche LLP. Matias has more than 10 years of experience in cyber security at the enterprise level and specializes in Identity and Access management (IAM) domain with a focus on API Governance within state sector industry. He has supported multiple state clients in enhancing their security posture and compliance with applicable federal and state regulations.

Education Chair - Giovanny “Geo” Martinez

Geo has spent more than 20 years in diverse IT environments contributing to the security and success of large enterprise environments. Geo has information security, information technology, and cybersecurity leadership experience. Geo has worked in the legal, construction, healthcare, and transportation sectors.

Geo has previously held vendor and vendor-neutral certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), HITRUST, FINRA, and currently holds the following certifications: ISC2’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and ISACA’s Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Geo served in the US Army in the late nineties and earned an Honorable Discharge. Geo has also been a private math tutor for subjects such as Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry, and Calculus.
